An ex-Navy veteran-come-author has accused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of snubbing his neighbourly gesture after they moved into the property next door to him.

Living in the guest house of his home while renting the main house out on Airbnb, Mr McGinity told the Montecito Journal he lives “a tiara’s toss or two” away from the couple which he outlines in his memoir Get Off Your Street.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved into their Montecito mansion in California in 2020 when 88-year-old Frank McGinity attempted to approach the home with gifted copies of the film he made about the history of the area and their new home.

“The gate guy turned me away and wouldn’t take the film, just saying ‘they’re not interested.’ I was trying to be neighbourly,” Mr McGinity wrote.

Harry and Meghan moved to Montecito from the United Kingdom after resigning as senior working members of the British royal family. But the royal couple and Mr McGinity may not stay neighbours for very long.

An undisclosed source recently claimed that Harry and Meghan might be planning a move to Malibu but no official move plans are known.
