Paramedic charged for stealing cash from frail older woman

A long-serving paramedic has been charged with stealing money from an 85-year-old woman in Brisbane.

According to a report from 7News the woman, who is frail and uses a walking frame, called paramedics for help after she fell at her unit in the State’s north.

Queensland Police allege that an attending paramedic stole cash from the woman’s belongings while tending to her at her unit.

Neighbours allege they found money in the area of the incident a few days later.

The paramedic has since been charged and stood down by Queensland Ambulance Service. He will need to appear in court.
