The footage shows an elderly man, clad in a white shirt and grey pants with a brown bag slung across his body, being attacked by two teenage boys who are seen punching him before he falls to the ground.
Eventually, an onlooker intervened to stop the attack.
According to the Courier Mail, the elderly man was able to leave the scene after the attack and boarded a bus. Queensland Police later revealed that he then contacted emergency services before being transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Many have taken to social media to voice their outrage, condemning the attack and urging authorities to take decisive action to hold those responsible to account.
A 15-year-old boy from Tanah Merah will face the Brisbane Children’s Court later this week charged with one count each of serious assault of a person over 60 and stealing.
A 16-year-old boy from Coorparoo has also been charged with one count of serious assault of a person over 60 but will instead undergo disciplinary action under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
The graphic nature of the assault has generated widespread outrage and calls for urgent action on youth crime in the state of Queensland and across the country.
Shameful act by these young people obviously with too much time on their hands. These kids should be working on farms or somewhere to earn their living or to appreciate life.
