The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission maintains a public Register of Banning Orders to protect older people in funded aged care. This register lists individuals, including aged care workers, former workers and responsible persons, who are subject to current banning orders. These orders prohibit them, permanently or temporarily, from involvement in aged care services.

Orders are made under the Aged Care Act 2024, or prior legislation, for reasons including unsuitability, breaches of the Code of Conduct, insolvency, or posing safety risks. In some cases, this may be linked to serious charges or convictions.

As of the latest update on 5 February 2026, the register includes hundreds of entries. Recent media has reported around 392 banning orders since January 2023. New South Wales has the highest number at 145, followed by Queensland with 94, Victoria with 66, South Australia with 44, Western Australia with 27, Tasmania with 10, the ACT with 4, and the Northern Territory with 2.

The full official list, including names, locations, order dates, durations, effective times and any variations or conditions, is available in the Commission’s PDF and CSV files, last updated 5 February 2026.

For space efficiency, below are individuals from the provided register data, alphabetised by surname for readability. This reflects records up to early 2026, with some variations noted.

Employers need to be honest about their references to other facilities and employers. If employees breach the rules and regulations it needs to reported and employers should be expected to check.

  2. How is it that a person can be banned for 10 years but not Life.
Anything over 5 years should be for life.

    Who are we protecting?

We are supposed to be protecting people receiving care, we have no obligation to provide employment opportunities for those whose conduct got them suspended.

Can we assume all these people have been banned from NDIS, Child Care, Nursing and all other care settings ?
