Aged care worker arrested for allegedly raping a resident on multiple occasions

A 47-year-old man working at an aged care facility in Adelaide’s southern suburbs has been arrested and charged after the alleged rape of an elderly resident on three separate occasions.

According to police, the accused committed his attacks on the 79-year-old woman in the months of January and February this year.

The accused, who is believed to be from Adelaide’s eastern suburbs, was arrested by detectives last Friday after an investigation by the Southern District Criminal Investigation Branch.

The man has since been granted bail before his scheduled appearance in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on March 30.
