Lori-Anne Sharp is the Assistant Federal Secretary of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation and has been a registered nurse for over 25 years. Most of her career has been spent with the Royal District Nursing Service (RDNS) across a variety of roles and sites.
A key role was with the RDNS Homeless Persons Program (HPP), a specialised team of community health nurses providing healthcare to people experiencing homelessness. She was also a Team Coordinator, managing a team of nurses delivering healthcare to vulnerable communities.
Lori-Anne was on ANMF Victorian Branch Council from 2004 to 2018 and held positions as Branch Vice President and Federal Vice President. She contributed significantly to union efforts to negotiate EBAs on behalf of members and supported landmark policies such as nurse-to-patient ratios.
Lori-Anne commenced as ANMF Assistant Federal Secretary in June 2018 and also holds a board director position on the superannuation fund HESTA. In this nationally-focused role, she works to bring people together and extend the ANMF’s reach. “I’d like to empower nurses to join and be active within the ANMF, and I encourage nurses to take on leadership roles within their workplaces and communities.”
