Last month, Foxtel Business hosted a group of aged care residents from different Estia Health aged care homes in a corporate suite at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for the Richmond versus Hawthorn game.

Estia Health residents and carers from across Victoria including Bendigo, Yarra Valley, and Glen Waverley were treated to corporate hospitality in the suite and enjoyed a premium view of the action.

It was a unique opportunity for the residents to attend a live sporting game and there was a mix of Richmond and Hawthorn fans amongst the residents. The game didn’t disappoint with Richmond pulling off a last-quarter comeback to win 14.12 (96) – 15.5 (95) after finding themselves behind by 30 points.

As a longtime Richmond supporter, Estia Health Bendigo resident John was thrilled to see the game up close and personal.

“If Richmond win then he will wear his jumper the next day too. John has been talking about the trip to the footy ever since he was picked to attend.”

On the other side of the field, Estia Health Melton South resident Marty will never forget the experience.

“It was the happiest I’d ever seen him,” explained Lifestyle Assistant, Blake Cordell.

“It’s also the first time he’s ever been to the footy in a suite and he’ll remember it for a long time.”

Tom Enright, Foxtel National Health Manager, said the company was pleased it could offer this special experience to Estia Health residents.

“… There’s nothing like being in the stadium to watch the action in person. It was a joy to see the excitement among the residents to be there at the game and it’s a day I’m sure they’ll treasure forever.”

Foxtel Business provides the aged care industry with new and classic TV shows, movies, docos, live sport and more to keep residents entertained.
