92 Organisations from 17 Countries Recognised for Innovative, Outstanding Contributions to Improving Quality of Life for Older People in Asia Pacific

Singapore, 16 May 2019 – 92 organisations from 17 countries were recognised for their innovative and outstanding contributions towards improving the quality of living for the older people in Asia Pacific at the 7th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards Ceremony & Dinner on 15 May at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, Singapore that gathered over 320 industry guests from 22 countries.

A total of 25 award categories, including six new categories for the healthcare architectural space that recognise and honour the creative and innovative minds behind the many built environments that support in leading a quality lifestyle and improving the quality of life, care and happiness for the region’s elders, were given out.

This year’s OSCARS of the APAC Eldercare industry received close to 200 entry submissions from 17 countries:

– Australia, China, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesian, Japan, Malaysian, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden, The Netherlands, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, and USA. This marks close to a one hundred percent increase from last year’s entry submission.

The qualifying entries were reviewed by a panel of global industry experts from Australia, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

The 2019 recipients of the Global Ageing Influencers and Global Ageing Trailblazers awards were also announced and honoured during the awards ceremony & dinner. A total of 16 Ageing Influencers were honoured for their outstanding achievement impacting ageing in Asia Pacific while 11 Ageing Trailblazers were recognised for their multi-disciplinary leadership in ageing that inspires change in their home country.

Dr The Honourable Lam Ching-Choi, BBS, JP, Member of the Executive Council, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region The People’s Republic of China, Chairman, Elderly Commission, Hong Kong SAR, CEO, Haven of Hope Christian Service, Hong Kong SAR, was awarded the Global Ageing Influencers (Special Recognition) – a highly regarded industry recognition to honour the outstanding achievements of the most dynamic and forward thinking leaders driving innovation and fostering collaborations across Business, Government and Community sectors to change the future of ageing in Asia Pacific.

The 8th edition of the Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards 2020 will take place on 21 May 2020 in Singapore. Call for nominations for the 2020 awards will commence in October 2019. For more information, please contact awards@ageingasia.com.
