New South Wales Police are investigating an incident at a Sydney aged care home after a ball-bearing-like projectile was fired into the building.

Police officers were called to Estia Health’s Bexley Park Aged Care facility at Bexley about 11.20pm on Tuesday after staff found a hole in the window of a meal room on the first floor.

A crime scene was established and police found a ball bearing at the scene. It will be forensically examined but police believe it caused the damage.

“It’s undergoing further examination but is believed to have caused the damage.”

Police have yet to find the culprit but said there is no evidence to suggest the facility was targeted.

Anyone with information, CCTV footage or dashcam vision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
