Luxury new development creating excitement at Wood Glen

A new development of luxurious homes is generating excitement and interest at Wood Glen Retirement Village.

Eleven architecturally designed, three-bedroom independent living villas are under construction at the Erina community, with the first stage set to be completed in May.

The village is currently home to 83 – primarily two-bedroom and some three-bedroom – independent living units, a five-star, resort-style lodge with exclusive facilities and manicured gardens – all housed in a secure and gated community.

An additional development of 58 luxury apartments across two buildings is in the pipeline for 2019, in which residents will be able to access additional care services if needed.

A successful trial of new care and support services at Wood Glen’s sister village, Tarragal Glen, in 2017 was the springboard for an ongoing rollout of similar services across the company’s portfolio.

RetireAustralia CEO Alison Quinn said residents contribute to their communities in a variety of ways.

“Retirement villages these days are very much externally focussed; there’s lots of volunteering and community work,” she said.

“Residents become part of the broader community, which is usually their family home neighbourhood.” Ongoing development at Wood Glen will continue to bring economic benefits to the Central Coast.

From attracting investment from Sydney and elsewhere, increasing employment opportunities, tourism from visiting families, and supporting local businesses, the economic benefits are sizeable.
