CCTV footage captured the heartless assault.

A beloved local figure has become the victim of a savage attack outside a Hungry Jack’s restaurant in Jindalee, a suburb north of Perth. The victim, a man in his 70s known for his endearing presence in the community, was subjected to a vicious beating early on Friday morning.

The incident, which took place around 3:15am last Friday, was captured on CCTV and has left both residents and authorities in shock. The elderly man, who had been a familiar sight around the area, was attacked in the car park of the fast-food establishment while he was resting.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene. The elderly man, whose injuries were described as serious, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital. He remains in the trauma unit, where his condition is currently stable but serious.

The alleged assailants, two men aged 21 and 22, were apprehended later in the day. Police managed to arrest them at a residence in Butler, a nearby suburb, following their escape in a silver sedan. The motives behind the attack remain unclear, but the suspects were reportedly unfamiliar with their victim.

Witnesses and locals have expressed their dismay at the brutal nature of the assault. The victim was known for his friendly demeanour and for spending his days collecting cans in the area. His presence was a comforting constant to many in the community, making the attack all the more shocking.

As investigations continue, police have cordoned off the Hungry Jack’s car park while they collect evidence. They have appealed to anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with their enquiries.

The community is rallying around the injured man, and there is a palpable sense of outrage and sympathy as residents await further updates on his condition. The police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers to aid in bringing clarity to this disturbing case.
